Orunmila announced rains of money and shells and people gathered it all up, mocking him; when he announced a rain of rifles and machetes nobody went out, Orunmila gathered them up, and when the war came they had to buy the weapons from him with what they had gathered.
Orunmila announced that it was going to rain money, and it rained. And that it was going to rain shells, and they rained. And the people, gathering up shells and money, said: «What is the matter with Orunmila, that he announces it and does not come out to gather it? Look how foolish he is!»
Afterward he announced that it was going to rain rifles and machetes, and nobody wanted to go out. Orunmila gathered them all up. Before long a great war broke out to attack that town, and the people had no weapons to defend themselves with. And they had to buy the weapons from Orunmila, with the money and the shells they had gathered.
Note: keep rain from falling on you.
