A farmer's crop was not coming along: an envious man went every night to run his hands over it to ruin him. The Awó marked him the ebbó of the trap, set in the field, with the rooster for Eshu. That night a shout was heard: the enemy had hurt his hands in the trap — and the whole thing came out. Maferefún Eshu, Orunmila and Shangó.
There was a man who had a field of yams, and the days went by and it was not coming along. Seeing how things stood, he went to be read by the Awó of the town, who saw this Odù in the osode and told him: «An envious man goes to your field every night and runs his hands over it so it will not come along, so you will be ruined. To catch him, you have to make ebbó with a rooster, a trap, four yams, thorns, colored cloths and plenty of ashé».
The Awó made the farmer his ebbó and sent him to set it in the field; the rooster was given to Eshu. During the night the farmer heard a shout: it was his enemy, who had hurt his hands in the trap in the ebbó when he went to run them over the field. And in the other road of this same envy, the yam went to complain to Eshu, Eshu did his work, and when the man laid his hand on it again he was pierced — and the whole thing came out.
