Ayaguna's lot was to be the maker of quarrels. Olodumare, wanting peace, sent him to peaceful Asia, but he set off war there too. Olodumare ruled that the world would last until Ayaguna rests from discord.
When Olodumare handed out the posts among his children, Ayaguna got the one of maker of quarrels: wherever he went he imposed himself and ruled with weapons, and there was no neighbor he did not end up fighting with. Olodumare, who wanted peace for his own, called him on it, and Ayaguna's answer was: "you, Father, are always sitting down, as if your blood did not run." To see if he would mend his ways, Olodumare stripped him of his command in Africa and sent him to Asia, a land where calm reigned.
Ayaguna, however, took those people for fools, set one tribe against another and lit a war that ended up reaching the whole world. The complaints of the peoples reached above again. Called back, he heard from his father: "I only want peace, I am Alamore, white flag." And the son answered: "Father, if there is no discord there is no progress; the world moves forward with discord, he who has two wants four, and the most able one wins." Olodumare's answer was final: "if that is so, the world will last until the day wars end and you turn your back on discord and lie down to rest; but that day will take a good while to come."
