Oshé Turá — Ashé Tuá, «the Power brought it to us» — is the Odù of the ashé: when everyone asked Olofin to be Kings, he alone asked for the ashé, and Olofin blessed him: «Everything you say will turn into truth». He is the Eleboda, the messenger of all the Odù: no sacrifice is accepted in Heaven unless Oshé Turá is called first — he and Eshu Odara carry the offerings to Orun.

He was born from the womb of Oshún as the boy Akin Osó, the male child who brought back the peace between Oshún and the 16 Agba Odù and saved the Earth from chaos. Ifá says — what Oshé Turá tells you

The Odù of the ashé: his word or his sentence always comes true; no one could take his ashé away because it was in his mouth. He is the Eleboda: the one who makes the ebbó work, the messenger of all the other Odù and the one who carries the offerings to Orun together with Eshu Odara — that is why every ebbó begins by calling Oshé Turá first. He is the Odù Isalayé of Oshún: he was born from her womb as Akin Osó, the boy who brought back the peace between Oshún and the 16 Agba Odù. It is the Ifá of the art of killing and of saving yourself: the world in two poles, life and death; in the war he gave advice to both sides. It is an Ifá of great wealth, in money and in spirit: it is the mouth, where there are as many good things as bad ones; it likes every color and every herb can be set to it. It is an Ifá that serves to lift up the fallen and also to throw curses. It is the direct face of Eshu, who handed him part of his own duties before Olordumare.
This Odù says that nothing happens without the help of Eshu; it warns you to stay away from the law and from enemies.
The mother or the wife of Oshé Turá will put him in danger of death: his wife is used by others, and they will even lie to her to get her husband's secrets.

1The doves and their flight

The eyelé offended Orunmila and he cursed her: «If I am not right, your wings will glide; if I am right, they will drop downward». That is why, when a dove's wings give out, they drop downward and she glides to the ground.

2Orula accused of stealing doves

Some boys made fun of Orula, shouting «thief» at him; he ruled that they would stay lying down and unable to get up, and an epidemic came. With the ebbó of the rooster and the dog — a fight Eshu fixed in the rooster's favor — the children were touched with the pashanes and got well.

One day Orula did his Osode in the morning and saw that, when he got where he was going, he would have trouble over the doves he was carrying. When he arrived, the boys made fun of him, shouting: «Thief, you stole those doves!».

Orunmila said: «Since I have not stolen a single one, you will stay lying down and you will not be able to get up». Then a very great epidemic came over that land, and the boys could not get up from their beds and began to die.

The families of the sick children went looking for Orula, who saw this Ifá for them and said: «There is nothing to fear: make ebbó with akukó, a dog, 3 pashanes and etá». Then he told them: «When you get to the corner, and the rooster fights the dog, if the rooster knocks the dog down and crows, hit the children with the pashanes and they will get well».

It happened that Eshu found his food on the corner and set up the fight in the rooster's favor. When the rooster and the dog fought, Eshu pushed the dog and it fell; he said to the rooster: «Crow!». The rooster crowed two or three times, they touched the children with the pashanes, and the children were saved.

3Obatalá and the boys' teasing

The boys teased Obatalá for being old; he cursed them to get sick and die. The Oshas begged for pardon, and Obatalá set a test with the dog and the rooster: if the dog knocked the rooster down, the world would end. The opposite happened, and the world was saved.

At the beginning of the world, Obatalá was old and had to walk the world Olofin had handed him. His hair was white, and the boys teased him for being old. Obatalá picked up an otá, threw it at them and cursed them, telling them they would all get sick and die.

The Oshas went to beg him for pardon. He told them: «Bring a dog and a rooster and set them to fight. If the dog knocks the rooster down, the world will end». But the opposite happened, and the world was saved.

Work to fight: it is done with akukó and dog; if it is to lift someone up, with a rooster.
