Oshanlá was guiding the people of Ifé, who wanted to know the truth of the mystery surrounding it: «the truth is held by Awó Osa Laye Otura, the man with the necklace of seguí stones and the ring of blue stone — the insignia of the ancient dead of Ifé». The Awó saw Osa Ure for them and told them: the truth of Ifé is Olorun, the owner of heaven who guides the Earth; the one who cannot be seen and yet guides everything; the character of Olordumare; the word that cannot be refused or denied and always comes true; the truth of Orunmila, owner of the word of Ifá. The earth gave birth to Otá Seguí, and with them the insignia of the power of truth were made. He marked them two white pigeons for Oshanlá and a rooster for Olorun, wrote Osa Ure on the atepón, passed the ashé over their heads — «Idabo Ifá Omariashé» — and gave everyone the sara-ekó to drink. Ever since, the necklace of seguí stone and the blue ring have been worn, so the light of truth shines on the earth.
Oshanlá had left the land of Ifé and was the one guiding its people, since they wanted to know the truth of the mystery surrounding Ifé. They asked Oshanlá: «What is the truth of Ifé?», and Oshanlá told them the truth was held by Awó Osa Laye Otura, the man who had the necklace of seguí stones and the ring of blue stone, which were the insignia of the ancient dead of Ifé.
So they went to the Awó's house and asked him: «What is the truth of Ifé?». And he made osode for them, saw Osa Ure and told them: «The truth of Ifé is Olorun, the owner of heaven who guides the Earth; the truth of Ifé is the one who cannot be seen and yet guides everything; the truth is the character of Olordumare; the truth is the word that cannot be refused or denied and always comes true; the truth of Orunmila, the owner of the word of Ifá, which is the ancient wisdom of Olordumare that surpasses everything». Orunmila was the one who saw this Odù in the land of Ifé when he wanted to know the truth, and he sang to them: «Ododowi otá aro kaye ododowi Ifá otá Awo kasheye Osha yio oluworan Baba egun enifa kualeshe».
The earth gave birth to Otá Seguí, and with them the insignia of the power of truth were made; through them, the eguns went on ruling in the kingdom of the living. And Awó Osa Laye Otura told them: «All those who speak the truth and live in it will be helped by the Oshas, and the light of the blue stones will never fail them». He also told them they had to give two white pigeons to Oshanlá and a rooster to Olorun, and he wrote Osa Ure on the atepón; he passed the ashé over their heads and told them: «Idabo Ifá Omariashé»; what was left he put into the sara-ekó and gave it to everyone to drink. Then he put the palm oil and the iyefá in their hands and prayed to Olorun with his Ifá in his hands; afterwards he ate the palm oil left in his hands — and so the truth was always with him and reached all of Oshanlá's children.
Ever since, in the land of Osa Laye Otura the necklace (ileké) of seguí stone and the ring of blue stone began to be worn, so the light of truth would always shine in that land.
Note: when this Odù comes up, a rooster is given to Olorun at once. Here passing the ashé over the head was born.
